I have one major bone of contention which seems to rear its ugly head every year around this time. Here is my problem: People (like my husband) who claim to be easy people to shop for because they don't care what they get.
I have two words for these people: Pah-lease. You are the hardest people to shop for. I have no idea what to get you ... I don't want to get you some crap gift, but something you'll really love and enjoy and without any direction, I flounder. I'm not going to get Lane something like a loofah and smelly bath soap. He'd hate that.
It's like dinner. He says he doesn't care, but then the other night he made a comment about the frequency with which I use ground beef in my cooking. So he DOES care.
Moral of the story: Give your loved ones some kind of guidance when they ask for it. Don't be afraid of sounding picky ... in my humble opinion, you're being helpful. I'll get off my soapbox now.
