Texas, Our Texas

We're all settled in.
We have power, water, trash pick-up, TV, phone and Internet.

I've even surrendered my California license. (Let's all have a moment of silence, please.)

And, more importantly, I've unpacked. Actually, don't look too closely at the house. I still have four unpacked boxes in my bathroom. And the guest room, well, let's just say you can't shut the door right now. Currently that room is being used for storing the I-don't-know-what-to-do-with-this-I'll-figure-it-out-later items.

But it's almost done. I'm like one hardcore day away.

So, for all of you waiting with baited breath as to the layout of our rental, here are a few photos so you can dream happy dreams of my little family in our abode.

The house is full. And this isn't everything. I've mentioned the guest room, but I'm failing to even TALK about the garage filled with unpacked boxes and furniture that shan't be used in this little home. (OK, so maybe I'm nowhere near done with the unpacking. But it feels like I am.)

Welcome to my home.

Here is our living room/study.

But I like this view more because it feels more like a family room. (Can you see Jane's train hiding there between the couches? This is her favorite little play area.)

Here is the breakfast nook.
Here is where I spend most of my day.
So here is the meager, beginner's Eden that I created for my viewing pleasure.
Jane's little, little room. You're missing the dresser to the right.
Our room, with my chair Lane hates to the left (I unpack, I decide).

Let Jackson (Lane) unpack the rest. He needs to take better care of you. Lane We Need To Talk.

Rachel, loved your post. The little house is looking more like the little home on the pairie. Mom and I love you guys and are missing you already. Give Lane and Jane a kiss, and then have Lane give you a kiss from us.

If he prevails on you to rid your home of that chair, I will come and take it. It's about the coolest chair I've ever seen! Who in the world is your fantastic designer! Huh? Huh?

I'm not gonna lie, I skipped your entire post to just see the pictures ... and I can't even enlarge 'em! Talk about getting cheated. You owe me one pseudo-being-in-your-home experience. Stat.
