News Round-Up

Today was Jane's first visit to the zoo.

We practiced animal noises all morning long. Mostly, it was "what does the elephant say?" because she loves the motion she gets to make with her arm.
Tragically, the elephants were gone from their exhibit, as were the lions (the only other noise she'd make this morning), but we did get up, close and personal with some cast-iron elephants:

And, surprisingly, a pregnant mommy and 13-month-old toddler were able to make it a full 3 hours in the zoo, granted it was super nice weather. Both of us, of course, needed some serious snack time.
Jane's favorite, you ask? The giraffes. She stared quietly at them for several minutes (hours in toddler time):
And, I know, I know -- you are all dying to see how Easter and the infamous dress turned out.

Good news: It fit. It fit wonderfully and Easter was a smash hit (in my eyes). And do you not love her hair bows? My SIL has more ribbon than any person on earth (all for her business) and made the adorable clips to perfectly match her dress.

Jane loved her basket

and we even forced my family tradition of an Easter Egg hunt with See's Candy eggs on her cousins, aunt and uncle. I went easy on the hiding spots, although I was shocked that Bill (brother-in-law, no, not his real name) and M1 found their eggs without any hints. Next year, I go Packard-diabolical.

In other good news, I gained less than half a pound at my baby appointment Monday. Huzzah! I even got to see the little bugger. He hid his face most the time, but it's plainly obvious he has those fat, little cheeks of his sister's (plus a good nose, always important).

Rachel,
That is the cutest Easter dress (and toddler) that I have seen. You have had me fooled lo these many years. And great news about the weight!

I can't believe how big Jane is getting! She looks so old. Aunt Julia misses her. And her mom and dad. I'm glad that this week's Dr.s was better than last. And the dress. To die for. Almost makes me want to try to have another little girl. Almost.

She looked ADORABLE on Sunday! We were sitting behind you and I wanted to come over and say hi after sacrament, but I had to get to primary to keep my little 4 year olds from disrupting all of sharing time. I am moving to the Lost Creek subdivision and will be in the 4th ward, I think. What ward are y'all in?

Your previous post about making the dress reminded me of this:

I love the dress!

Yeah for the 1/2 lb! I feel like we are copying each other in our pregnancies. Good luck for the next appointment!
