That's right folks, it's a new ride.Horrible photo, I know. But they say to attract readers/viewers (which is what we're all about, right?) you should have more than just words on a page. Plus, I told my sister I would post a photo.
We're all super excited for the new set of wheels (probably mostly me). And it's already come in great use -- hats off to the Pilot that fits my baby in her car seat AND the awesome dresser I scoured the Internet (namely, Craig's List) for.
And yes, I really feel like I'm taking adult-like steps now. Two kids AND a family car? What will I do next? (Is it not ironic that, at the age I am, I still feel like I'm not an adult? Did my parents feel this way? I know my sister does and I'm fairly certain my wonderful cousin Becky does ... is it genetic? Or is it like this for everyone? Deep thoughts.)
Next step: Sell the Civic. That will be a sad day and likely cause for some kind of eulogy or 21-gun salute on the blog (not as in the death of the car, but the death of our long relationship). The Silver Bullet has been through a lot with me. It's the only car I've ever driven (and I'm almost 29 folks).
Now, if you'll excuse me, these floors won't mop themselves and it must be done before my little Scooter (the only way she moves) wakes up.
P.S. Speaking of rollin' ... This is how Jane rolls now:

First the child won't crawl, she would only scoot (Jane, moving quite fast, as she scoots away):

Now she walks everywhere on her knees instead of her feet. You can't say she's not creative.

Don't forget to check the tires before you sell the Civic.
exciting events occurring, so close together and connected. . .but the conversation between Annette Bening and Katharine Hepburn in "Love Affair" came to my mind. . .something to the effect of "still wanting it after you get it". . .if you've seen it perhaps it will make more sense, but you seem so pleased about the purchases and acquisitions and how nice to be happy once you have finally found the "finds". . .enjoy the new vehicle and all the discovery, e.g. now able to pick up purchases and ease to load the cargo (oops, is Jane precious cargo?)
You've got to get some video going of this little scooter - I'm dying to see her in action and hear her little babbles. It's been 6 months!!! New cars are SO exciting and can be so stressful until you find it, so I'm glad you guys are all set just in time. I feel the tension building that we need to start crossing stuff off our list with only a handful of open Saturdays left to get things done. So happy you're finally getting this kiddo out!! Can't wait to see him.
I definitely do not feel like an adult yet--I know exactly how you feel! I'm wondering when that will change.
