Happy Birthday to You

With the advent of my niece's 15th birthday last week, I attempted to get Jane to utter the full "Happy Birthday".
As a result, she now runs around the house shouting "happy birthday to you" most of the day.
And then during the birthday phone call to her aunt on Sunday, where she refused to sing or say the happy birthday, she started asking for the birthday cake. Then she started asking for her crown (that she wore all day on her birthday).
We've explained that it isn't her birthday, but Elliot's will be here soon.
So now she runs into his room every morning yelling "Happy Birthday, Buddy!" until I tell her not today.
It warms my heart to see that my baby girl takes after me with amount of importance laid upon the birthday.
On Saturday, Lane and I discussed, what he termed, this odd need of mine to have every special day be especially special.
How is this weird?
I don't care who you are. Everyone loves their birthday and they want it to be special.
When someone tells me it isn't a big deal to them, I say: Hogwash. Everyone wants it to be important to the others in their life. E.V.E.R.Y.O.N.E.
Of course, this is only my theory.
