I la-la-la-love Jane's curly hair.
It might not come straight from her skull like a corkscrew, but it forms the most adorable ringlets after a few inches.
this photo was taken a few days ago, when, after nap time, i informed jane we'd be headed to the mall to meet daddy and "ride the horseys". she promptly insisted that she change into her "pretty, pretty skirt".I do. I do love the long, curly hair. But I hate scraggly hair (and baby mullets) more. For some time, I've been paranoid about the scragglies with Jane.
Then, a few weeks ago, Lane turned to me after church and said "I think we need to get Jane's hair cut."
Done. It's true. Here, on my neglected blog, I try to post only the most flattering hair photos, but the little darling started having more scraggly hair moments than beauti-amiss moments awhile ago.
So today my princess and I went on a Mommy/Daughter date.
I said goodbye to the waves of scraggly curls:

Jane picked her outfit.
And off we headed to a real salon.
After Barney, a haircut, a lollipop and a fashion show of the new cut to the dogs at the Dog Park, Jane informed me she preferred chicken and fries to ice cream as the conclusion to our date.
We lived it up grand style at the local McDonald's where Jane tried to tell every stranger she met that she cut her hair and got a lollipop. Then home again, home again like the little pigs we were to show our new look to Daddy.
I'm still adjusting.

Awwww. Did it cut the baby curls off? Tell me she still has some curl! When Anna got her hair cut it gradually turned from curls into wavy straggles, which is its current state.
BTW love the pretty pretty skirt.
im so glad you're blogging again. Please dont go silent!
XOXO

I can't believe how much she looks like you in the pic where she's at the foot of the stairs. I also like the close-up with the dum-dum. Adorable. I really want to see her in person again.
Greg asked me today if we should just shave Abby (almost 2) to make her hair grow in thicker. She has thinned on top of her head so she is looking scragglie too since I am avoiding doing anything to it for fear of pulling more hair out.
Oh, Jane looks so much like her mother!
