I ran as quickly and quietly as possible, retrieved the video camera and rushed back to her door.
I knew if I entered, she would stop and ham it up for the camera (because we've tried before to get her nighttime sing-alongs on video). I missed the first song, but got the second, with a very artistic shot of the doorknob in the dark (that was said sarcastically, folks).
It can be a little quiet, but if you can turn up the volume and hold out until 45 seconds or so, I swear, as an unbiased mother, your heart will melt. In the meantime, you get to hear my husband's wonderful voice (again, the observations of a totally unbiased party).
What you're hearing there at the end is what Jane and Lane repeat to each other as part of their routine: "I'll love you forever. I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be."
I know, I know. Hallmark card, right?

That is just precious, so says both Grandma and Grandpa Olsen. It really is thrilling to hear those sweet sounds. It is wonderful you had the presence of mind to run for the camera. It makes us feel as if we are there. Thanks so much.
Great capture Rachel. . .lucky you have all the modern equipment to make keeping these memories so possible. . .and our favorite book. . .Lane got his first copy when he was probably Jane's age. . .but it is a classic. . .thanks for sharing. . .
So adorable. I love Jane's sweet, sweet voice. Sing-a-longs are so much fun!
So so cute. I agree totally Hallmark!

How adorable!! Jane has the cutest little voice and, clearly, a budding singing career ahead of her! :-)
I totally just cried like a little girl... I love the movie An American Tail and Jackson will sit with me and watch it. Every time without fail, when Fievel and his sister sing that I cry. It brings back memories when I was little... So sweet and beautiful! You are VERY lucky!!!
