Lane spent the morning mocking the title of this blog "the bee's knees". He says no one knows what it means.
Is this true? Have I picked an iconic saying from the 20's that leaves everyone clueless?
It means the same thing as the cat's meow. I know Kallee (BFF) and I know what it means ... am I wrong in making the assumption that it's a known phrase?
From now on, Lane wants 20's slang to be the theme of the site. So no more names for this family. Lane picked his own nickname.
Lane = Big Cheese
Jane = Bee's Knees
If you'd like to see the meaning of these, as well as other fantastic 20's slang, go to this Web site:

I knew what it meant if that helps your cause. :)
You can email me at writingfishbowl at gmail dot com
I decided I should have at least one email address that didn't have my name in it.
Thanks. I already have the book on hold at my library. Can you tell I'm a bit obsessed with books and book clubs? :)
Actually, thanks for clearing that up. I honestly had no idea what that meant, but I still enjoy your blog. :)
ps. I love the nickname Lane chose, but what is yours?
I would also suggest a creative nam collaberation:
Rachel Ln.
lol that's awesome!
You two are so funny and cute! Hey, Happy Mother's Day you new Hot Momma! I love you tons, and I hope your first Mother's Day was super special for you!!!
Rach, you slay me! I am stuck on your website and how nifty it is with all the 20’s slang. You’ll probably razz me because I am such a sap—I too didn’t know what the Bee’s Knees meant but after I started reading your blog, I started hearing it more in conversations around me… okay, it was only in one conversation. My vote for your nickname is Sheba. Anyway, you’ve probably heard an earful so I’ll pipe down now. I hope everything’s Jake!
Rach - I got it from the first time I read it. My mom used that phrase quite a bit growing up! Although I do like Lane being the Big Cheese!
