Our poopy-diaper expert

In typical Rachel fashion, this entry is far too late. But the first Father's Day in this home did come and was celebrated.

Lane is the kind of father I dreamt my children would have. Even in the womb (and perhaps it was mere coincidence), Jane would jump and move around the minute she heard Lane's voice as he came home from work. Today she will stop whatever she is doing (even ravenous eating) and glance around when she hears his voice.

I knew Lane was a good man and would be an even better father from the very beginning. Like my mom said after she first met him, "You know he's a good one because dogs and kids like him -- those are the two things you can not fool."

I think Lane had a good Father's Day ... I certainly know Jane and I enjoyed showering more attention and praise on the person who makes our days brighter.

It started with breakfast in bed. Jane gave her daddy a gift of Dodger tickets for when they come to the area -- presented in the small "My First LA Dodgers t-shirt" recently acquired.

Since church is in the afternoon and a certain someone can get cranky with no afternoon nap (the baby is a little worse for the wear too), I waited until after the baby was down for the night before making the specially requested meal. And, since Lane is forever saying he wants to put the baby in his bag and take her to work with him, I gave him a gift that allows him to do just that:

It's a business-card holder, but with photos of the baby. It fits in his shirt pocket and he seems to be enjoying it ... he showed it around at the dentist office last week.

Here's to the most important boy in my life. Jane and I would be lost without him.

Aw so cute! I'm sure Lane is an awesome daddy. He is a good guy all around.

So, in response to the blog below this....how many kids do you both want all together?
