Lane partying it up
We recently celebrated Lane's birthday. Of course, every one in our little home was sick the day of, but luckily we had more than one celebration (so captured in the above photo).
He even got two desserts. A bread pudding from Mimi's and a strawberry rhubarb pie that I made from scratch on the big day.
In honor of my darling husband, who I love oh so very much, I am doing reasons why I love him (mushy, I know, AND I just did it for our anniversary, but it's my blog so I can gush about my love as much as I like), as a sort of rendition of pinches with one to grow on.
- He watches romantic comedies with me
- He lets me sleep in most mornings as he takes care of the baby
- Children and dogs love him ... as my mother says, a sure sign that he's a good man
- We laugh together every day
- He lived (and lives) his life worthily, allowing him to stand with me in the Temple to be sealed for all time and eternity
- He reads up on entertainment gossip so he can dish with me
- He's incredibly patient
- There is never anything but a smile on his face when he looks at or takes care of our baby
- He brings me my favorite treats for no reason at all
- He always leaves the last bit of a dessert for me to eat
- He drives wherever we go so I can nap if I want to
- He gives me the nook to sleep in every night
- He works so I can stay home with our baby
- He handles my neurosis wonderfully
- He lets me put my cold feet all over him every night
- He has heart-melting dimples
- Although it's all he talks about, he doesn't shave his hair because he knows I like it
- He puts gas in the car and washes it on a regular basis
- Will kill any spider or bug that crosses my path
- Let's me shower first every day so I never have to deal with cold water
- Because he remembers silly little memories that you wouldn't think a man would remember
- He loves to go to the theatre with me
- He lets me eat the entire Chocolate Thunder from Down Under from Outback when we "share"
- Forgoes his "SportsCenter" so that I can watch a "Sex and the City" episode for the 6th time.
- He stayed right by my side from the minute we entered the hospital to have Jane until long after they'd moved me to the postpartum room
- Because he enjoys grocery shopping with me on a Saturday
- Because he believes I can do anything I aspire to ... and is my biggest cheerleader
- Because he's stubborn
- Because he can give you a scripture in any situation
- Because he and I rarely see eye to eye on political issues
- Because he avoids yard work like the plague
- He's a great kisser

Hey Rach! That pie looks DELICIOUS!! Lane sounds amazing.. i need to meet him. I wish Sean would leave me the last peice of dessert... i have to fight with him to get any bites in at all, he eats so darn fast. YOu are one lucky gal!

I am glad Lane had a wonderful B-Day and you love him so much...Rumor has it you might be leaving us in Northern Cali , if so too bad Lane and I will have to fish before you stinkers leave.
Rach, that was beautiful. I always enjoy reading other peoples gushing moments. Not that I didn't already know Lane was a good man, but I am so glad he found a wonderful woman to appreciate him and I'm even more happy that you are both happy together. :)
