Then, miraculously, as we went to sleep last night, Lane asked me if Jane and I would like to meet him for lunch the next day. Would I? That's a big yes.
So Jane and I looked forward to our date all morning. She got all dolled up,
I showered (it was the least I could do) and off we went.
In the aftermath, Jane cried for 30 minutes upon watching her Daddy walk back into work, my tiny Civic was almost crushed by some maniac behind the wheel of a luxury SUV, and my stomach aches (likely culprit:),

but it was totally worth it. Because I loved every single second of it. I got to spend a lunch date with my Prince Charming.
We're well on our way to a dinner date complete with a sitter for the kiddies.
P.S. Don't cry for me Argentina, he did bring me home flowers the other day for no apparent reason. They are sitting brightly on my kitchen table at this very moment.

what a fun 'date'. . . sounds like a great outing for Jane and Mom. . .I used to pack up the kids and take them to Lorin's basketball games when he was coaching. . .it was a great outing and the kids loved it. ..but Lorin didn't feed us. . .you got a great deal there
