All year, I look forward to one treat.
One.
The delectable goodness of Cadbury Mini Eggs.
For weeks now, I've passed by bins crammed full of the best treat known to woman. But I kept walking. I knew if I purchased a bag, I would simply consume the entire thing in mere minutes. And I wanted to wait. "It's your treat from the Easter Bunny," I told myself.
However, Saturday, I started noticing an ugly trend. Those Cadbury Mini Egg bins were empty. "Hmm," I contemplated, "they'll be refilled."
Tonight I went to my brand-new Super Target for a rug. I passed by the Easter aisle and noticed it was slightly picked over. So I walked through looking for my treat.
I didn't see anything.
"Excuse me," I sweetly said to a sales clerk, "where are your Cadbury Mini Eggs?"
"This aisle here," she says pointing to an aisle I've spent the last 5 minutes searching, "and everything Easter I have is put out."
This is the meanest trick you could play on a pregnant woman. I very nearly cried right there in the Easter aisle. But I waited until I got home to shed my few tears of angst.

Rachel thanks for this post... I'm not the only pregnant woman trying to be strong!
I bought some when they first came out in February and it took everything in me to stop. I want them to go away forever so I'm never tempted again!
I hope you find some before Easter!
My heart is breaking for you! They really are "the best treat known to woman"!
our target is out of mini eggs as well!!! i was searching all over for them last weekend. so sad, so tragic!
thats the saddest story! i love the mini cadbury eggs too and every year i wait for my husband to surprise me with some...i'm still waiting!
Both you and Julia have now blogged about picked-over candy aisles. I'm started to a get a bit paranoid. Somehow there are always treats remaining in Provo (even if 66 percent of the population is female), but maybe this year the economy is inspiring people to stock up. A sort of perverted form of food storage.
These cautionary tales have not fallen on deaf ears. I resolve to go to the store post-haste . . .
This happened to me last year at Target, so maybe try your grocery store. If you happen to have a Sam's Club membership (or a good friend with one) Sam's club sells a HUGE bag... HUGE.
LOL! HTose are my favorite and usually by this time I would have eaten BAGS. Not kidding, BAGS! BUt I am really trying ot lose a few more pounds before I may get pregnant again. So I also have fought the curse of those wonderfully delicous eggs... I did finally give in and bought a bag to go in "our" easter basket. I can hardly wait for tomorrow morning :) I am sorry to hear your tragic story. I do hope you found some. Try Longs/Walgreens :)
Oh girl, you should have told me. Trevor has a mean fetish for these eggs as well and I cannot keep him away from them when it's Easter time. In fact, I just went to Target and got him two little bags that were on the 75% off rack! Next time I will grab you some because they never ran out on our end of town. :)
