The Groove

The title is ironic.

We are in no kind of groove here. In fact, I think the heavens are laughing at me. I know he's not yet 4 days old, but he wakes up every hour and a half to eat. Factor in that it takes at least 30 minutes to feed him and I'm getting sleep in 40-minute intervals. Remember, my previous newborn experience was with a child who slept 12 hours a night when she was a week old. Previous to that, I was waking her every 3 hours to eat.
But, he is my little lovebug and Jane adores him. We all do.
His cry is not even 1/10 that of his sister's, which is a blessing because he can sleep through her wails.

Lane and I compared Elliot's and Jane's newborn photos last night and they look remarkably similar, except for their coloring, which is polar opposite.

Elliot finally opened his eyes long enough for us last night to see that his newborn color is sapphire blue. I'm sure that will change, but we were expecting the muddy purple again like his sister's. For now, the blue goes perfect with his beautiful blond hair.

And here he is, a true Laker fan, watching the analysis of the Laker Championship win last night with his daddy (he really was awake).

He is adorable! I'm totally calling you right now so I can book a flight to spend some TLC time with you and him (and Jane and Lane).

So cute! Wow, where did blond come from? I hope you both adjust easily to the new schedule, it will get better......I someday hope I will have a baby like Jane that will actually sleep for an extended period of time early on!

Ok, finally! He is so cute! And honestly, even though some times are hard, it is EASIER to have them close (mine are 20 mo, 19 mo, 27 mo, 18 mo....and the 27 mo gap was the hardest!)

I'm loving all the pictures, Lane is so cute holding him. Glad the birth went so well and I hope you're able to soak up the rest and help while the grandma's are there. He is so precious - I just can't get over his coloring, what a funny surprise!

What a cutie. Julia called him "E-man" on her blog the other day, which made me think of the Ensign-Lewis nickname for him: E-wok.

Wonderful, no?

Yeah for you! He is adorable! Good work. I hope that you get some rest in between feedings, a toddler, and company. I'm sure Cosmo's properly confused! :) Loves.
