I could tell it was a scene from years ago, when I called Southern California my home. (This was obvious by the salon-styled hair and stain-free clothing.)
In a panorama of my dream, I could see my arms wrapped around my darling husband. I was dreaming of our second date.
While I think of this day often, it is not common for me to dream about the day we both quietly and intuitively knew in our hearts that we'd be spending time and all eternity together.
I awoke from my dream slightly before 6 a.m. to a crying, hungry baby. Our second baby. On our third anniversary.
I looked to my left to see my husband's sweet face undisturbed in silent slumber.
And my heart filled with joy.

Photo from our second date. That's my niece Miss A, who also knew (but not so queitly) that we'd end up together, in the middle.

That is so TENDER and SWEET! Happy Anniversary! :D
I love your posts about family, especially your little one. As a father and grandfather now, I can tell you how wonderful it will be to have these events recorded for the future. These are the "roses" in the "decembers" of our life. And lest you think "decembers" are only for the older generation, they visit us throughout our life - take a look back. I am happy that my girls choose to keep a record of their lives through their posts. These will always be cherished memories.
Your Dad is right (isn't he always?) such a wonderful way to share memories, thoughts, pictures and to record, for that season, those feelings and events. Your pictures are always wonderful and we love seeing them, especially with you so far away. We did take note of the two children, third anniversary and marvel at the way life has given you some truly great blessings. . .
I love it, Rachel. Such a perfect sentiment.
On a side note, I went to dinner with Grandpa O tonight and we were talking about the last time he was in California – your wedding. What a coincidence! Happy anniversary!
I can't imagine anyone more perfect for you than Lane. It's kind of a miracle how things just work out sometimes. Happy anniversary!
Oh to have my hair looking nice and no stains from kids on my clothing! That would be a miracle or maybe ten years from now. Happy Anniversary!
