It's true. Four months already.
This boy is my little love. I know! I say it all the time, but it's true. He's so content, so happy and so laid back. I imagine this is the type of baby Lane was. (Am I right? Donna?)
Of course, when he screams, it's like a little girl: High-pitched and quivering -- he got Jane's lip, so his shirt was particularly appropriate today for his 4-month check-up.
This child la-la-loves sucking on his fingers and thumb. We can't get them out of his mouth. In fact, he generally tries to nurse while still sucking on a finger.

And he is so much better at alone playtime than Jane ever was. Of course, they're both champs at it now. It's the more-than-one-kid thing, I know.

At any rate, here's what I find particularly amusing: At 4 months, his weight is in the 79th percentile. He is 4 ounces less than Jane was at this age (and he's longer), except at Jane's 4-month visit, her weight put her "off the chart".
Height: 25 inches
Weight: 16 pds., 10 oz.

You are absolutely right. . Lane was mellow and EASY. . .being a "fairly inexperienced mother with my first" (ha!) when Lane was born 22 months later, I just smiled, rocked, nursed and said, "good night Lane, close your eyes." He did, life was blissful and he's been mellow, easy going, delightful, wonderful and a perfect son ever since! So Elliot is off to the same start and will follow in those wonderful footsteps of father. These sons just make motherhood wonderful, add in the sisters and family becomes blissful. So glad you are enjoying this stage of life, savor every day and every minute.
Oh Rachel, he is adorable! I'm glad he's such a good baby. Lydia is also quite mellow most of the time which is probably good because it makes having a second one (one day, not anytime soon) seem less scary.
Should I mention Abby at her 1 year last week was 17 lb 13 oz. Way to go Elliot! You'll be the big man on campus! He's darling.
He really is cute, Rach. I looked at that last picture and saw your toes, still clinging to the daisies of Diana's pre-wedding pedicure. Don't worry; mine look exactly the same.
