We're knee-deep in Fall here. Maybe not like they are in Utah, what with the snow I keep hearing people complain about (as for me, I'm envious), but it's cold and we've been to the pumpkin patch (apparently, a Fall requisite).
There were several grand pumpkin patches within an hour drive of our home (Texas standards: Anything 20 minutes away = Down the street), but we settled for a little less of a grand one that was free and only "down the street". Not everything I'd envisioned in my mind, but Jane sure enjoyed it.

I tried desperately for that Perfect Fall Photo to no avail. And, yes, I refer to the photo as a proper noun because, apparently, this is an endeavor that every mother on the Earth aims for.

You should have seen it: Mothers everywhere yelling, yelling, at their toddlers trying to make them stay still for a photo, snapping their fingers and positioning newborns in the most awkward of positions.

I displaced toddler frustration and it landed on my unwilling victim, Lane. Poor man. He dealt with it in class and helped me get a few meager photos. When the kids started crying, I gave up with what I considered as style and grace -- I don't know how Lane viewed it.
Oh well. There's always next year.

You think that's bad...take a look at our family photos and realize we PAID for those. It's like I said...at least it helps you remember what times were like at that moment: these photos are so true to their natures. What do they care about snapping a perfect picture? Honestly. Heaven help us, poor mothers.
I love the picture where Elliot looks like he is slipping away and Jane has her arm under his fat little cheeks. I wish I could nibble on those cheeks right now!
oh boy that was me and my mom on monday. we went to the pumpkin patch on auburn blvd and kept with all the yelling at olivia to look up, smile and what not...ehhh it went alright then we put her in her costume and that was even more challenging but we got some cute ones! i have yet to post them. but anyways i got the pumpkin hat at Target. i had to buy it! i also found this black cat one at walmart which is equally as cute but obviously more ominous and spooky!
too cute with Jane kissing his little head tenderly and her little fingers are just cute. . .these are precious pictures. Pumpkin patch always reminds me of Lane since it was somewhat ritualistic every year around his birthday, just great timing. . .such wonderful memories and now you create your own. . .love the father and son picture. . .priceless. . .
