Commercial

I'm going to sound like a commercial, so tune out now if you fast forward through this part with your DVR.

But it's OK, because I feel like a commercial.

I heart PBS kids' programs, especially Super Why and Sesame Street. In all sincerity, I can sing their accolades all day long.

Now, I go over numbers and letters with Jane myself, but I think the real work is done from the TV. (How horrible does that sound?)

This morning, as I watched part of the show with her, AlphaPig (yes, I know all the names) got stuck in his alphabet. "What comes after 'E'?" As Jane ran in circles around the living room, she shouted, without flinching or glancing at the television: "F!"

Who needs expensive toys and cable when you have free shows like this?

Hurrah for PBS! Some day, I'll start paying attention to their regular pleas for money.

We LOVE PBS... we do, however, pay for cable and get PBS kids sprout (preschool programming all day long). I love it... especially when I need a few minutes to get something done, like make lunch/dinner, clean the house, get things ready to leave the house, I can turn it on and I know it will be something appropriate for my kids to watch.

The Super Why creators are geniuses. Jordan can only identify "o" and "y," but he is fascinated with letters everywhere, thanks to the show. He yells out random vowels every time they ask for super letters, and sometimes he lucks out.
