And it's almost as if Elliot were fully aware that he'd reached a milestone -- complete with its own set of behaviors and attitudes. The tears and injustice cries are more dramatic, albeit less. He talks and plays more. Everything. It's as if he's looking right at me and saying "Mom, technically, I'm not classified as a baby any longer -- and you can't make me be one."
In addition, overnight (I swear! It was overnight!) he grew. I put him into his 9 to 12 month clothing Friday morning and it was tight. His footsie pajamas were straining at the feet.
We had his party Thursday night so Papa and Uncle Drew could participate.
It was hamburger themed and a big hit with my E-Man. (Of course, he can eat an entire hamburger. No joke.)

He ate his cake ala-Jane style
but it looked less dramatic because his cake had white icing
He opened presents (read: Mom opened) and went to bed far too late (8:30 p.m.) but it was a jolly time.
He and Jane played with his new toys the next day and Elliot rode in his front-facing toddler seat like he'd been born into it.
And he saw Dr. C for the year check-up. He hated it. Jane hated it. And I hated it because of all the tears. All in all, he's big and excelling everywhere except in walking (he's just following in his sister's footsteps, or lack thereof).

Oh my gosh! Where did you get that hamburger cake! It's amazing. Did you make it or buy it? I cannot even begin to believe that Elliot is already one! Where has the time gone?
I need to come back and visit! William would LOVE really getting to play with the big guy. And really, didn't Elliot grow out of his 9-12 month clothes months ago??? He's so stinkin cute. And yes, AMAZING cake. You are fantastic.
