Jack

You can't really be thinking that I'd give my two babies (toddlers, by definition now) knives to carve a Jack-O-Lantern.

Really? I know I go crazy over Halloween and particularly over my advent calendar, but give me some credit.

Lane and I lived the dream on this activity.

First we lined our little beauties up in a row.
We gutted and gutted and gutted (really, that was just me, seeing as I had two pumpkins to complete -- I can't pass up to a beautiful pumpkin).

Lane completed a real Jack-O-Lantern after I mocked him for a faux attempt with the "scraping" technique. Let's be serious -- you need to gut that thing to get a true Halloween experience.
He's real proud of his creation. And, after mocking Lane, he gave me a sideways glance when I finished mine. This was Martha Stewart's idea that I loved. Super easy too. I suppose I cheated, but hey, I gutted.

Ooo, do show them all lit up. I haven't carved or seen a real jack-o-lantern in way too long.
