A month ago, when this princess asked for the Sleeping Beauty cake and dress for her upcoming birthday, her wonderful Grammie bravely declared she'd undertake the dress. "What color, Jane?" my mother asked. "Pink," Jane said.
This morning, on this her birthday, a pink Sleeping Beauty dress arrived.
And not any Sleeping Beauty dress. The real Sleeping Beauty dress (as Jane declares because it looks just like Aurora's).
All Jane wants to do now is dance to "Once Upon a Dream." Elliot and I have taken turns being Prince Phillip and the dragon (aka Maleficent).
Happy Birthday, my love. I've cried intermittently all morning at the thought of my baby girl being a whole 3 years.
birthday recap photos will come later -- because, yes, the actual Sleeping Beauty cake has been made (not four layers, but three).

It's darling! Mom, way to go!! And Jane looks like the perfect Aurora on her special day. Good think she's not 16 though, right?
Darling little princess. Mom did a beautiful job on the dress, but Jane is the perfect princess to wear it. I, too, am glad she is still 3.
