A Week

I've been MIA for a very, very good reason.

Jane's birthday present to herself was a nasty illness (remember how I said she had a vaccine-related fever at the end of her birthday. NOT vaccine related.)

Jane spent Tuesday through Thursday afternoon at the hospital for pneumonia and dehydration (the pneumonia caused her vomiting and Zofrin was not stopping it).

Lane and I stayed with her 24-7 (in shifts) and a couple of awesome and excellent friends and one awesome and excellent sister-in-law took care of my baby boy, not to mention bringing us food.

It was horrendous and awful. It also made me eternally grateful for my healthy family and wonderful friends and family.

Still, I'd prefer not to have to see this again any time soon (I'm referring to the sick eyes and IV coming out of her tiny, perfect hand):

P.S. She's home and doing wonderfully. Eating and playing and all things 3-year-old. She does want to be carried everywhere and I can't tell if this is her still feeling weak or a habit she's developed from being so sick.

Oh, such a sad face! Say a prayer of thanks for the medicine we now have for this kind of thing.
So Glad she is doing better and wanting to play. Remember she could still feel weak from all the antibiotics and other medicines she's had.

LOve you all, G:ma

So SAD!!! I hate it when my kiddos are sick, but when David had to go to the hospital for his hernias, it was more than awful, it was exhaustingly emotional. I am so sorry your family had to go through that, especially Jane! Glad your family is almost back to normal.

Give little Jane a hug from Grandma and Grandpa. We're grateful for her wonderful parents, your very supportive friends and Lael for helping you though this illness. Grateful for health and answers to prayers.
Love, Dad

I'm glad she seems to be pulling through it quickly. Nothing quite as awful as having sick kiddos! I'm sorry you had such a scare.

That is always the worst. Brett was in primary childrens a couple of years ago for about 3 days. They had to put the IV in his foot because they couldn't get it anywhere else.
