I tried not to panic, but when he wasn't coughing it up and his lips started turning blue and his face went from the red panic to the chalky white of I-haven't-taken-a-breath-in-some-time, I started to worry.
When another minute passed and he still hadn't relinquished the diabolical lollipop, I dialed 911.
Right when the lady picked up (literally felt like 5 minutes for the phone to dial and the operator to pick up -- in reality, she picked up the phone on the second ring) Elliot coughed up a big piece.
Then he was screaming so hard I had a hard time telling the 911 operator that we were all right.
I'm sure I'm flagged or something in their database. My kids have called on more than one occasion.
We're in California now, so no current worries about the curtains. There are new and exciting thing here, however. Like a pool immediately outside the back doors (gated, of course). And unknown wonders throughout a myriad of accessible drawers.
