Humphrey and Kate

Thank you, Netflix, for giving new life to a previously sketchy tradition on the Halloween Countdown.

Here we are near the end, when I knew a simple activity such as "howl at the moon" would be welcome on a day when our church's Trunk or Treat coincided.

Thanks to the countless silly children's movies offered by the streaming Netflix, my kids were introduced to "Alpha and Omega".

They love that film.

So, when I told them we'd be howling at the moon tonight, Jane and Elliot walked around all during dinner proclaiming, "I am Kate!" or "Humphries! Humphries!"

Here they are, howling at the moon, which I couldn't see, but they were thrilled to be doing it ...
Earlier, we were met with children who would only respond to the names of either "Violet" or "Dash".

Granted, our Dash took some time to show up.

We knew he was a little skittish on the costume, so when Jane appeared after his nap (an hour before Trunk or Treat) in her Incredibles costume, it worked well that he wanted to put on his costume too.

However, after donning the ensemble, our son proceeded to scream and cry for the next 35 minutes.

He stripped off the costume and it appeared that Violet would be attending the candy gathering alone.

Right before we left, he decided to dress himself.

Of course, happy in his costume for the next 2 1/2 hours, he refused to take it off for bedtime.

Costume wearing=candy in his little mind. Who wouldn't want to eat candy all night?
