Ramses IV

Do you want to see a photo of my growing baby?

Of course you do.

Why am I even asking? Who doesn't want to see photos of my children (the mantra of every mother, right?)?

Can you tell this is the baby looking straight at you? That's his little hand there near his mouth (always has his hand at his mouth), his nose and nostrils and his eyes ...

And because there are never enough ... another side profile:

As for a name, Lane is yet to decree his decision.

I think he is nearing in on a choice, but I prefer him to seldom tell people.

You see, my marvelous husband is too swayed by public opinion. He'll like a name until someone voices their opinion on it.

In my opinion, those opinions are unwanted. Who cares what someone else wants to name their child? Unless you like the name, of course. Then feel free to exclaim all the adoration you desire.

In the meantime, we'll continue to refer to the little cherub as Ramses or Ramses the IV. Lane gave the baby this moniker when he produced such havoc on my body in the first trimester -- nothing out of the ordinary, but anything is unusual for my pregnancies.

Who knows, maybe the name Ramses will be so natural by the time he is born you'll just stick with it. :)

I thought you picked the boys' names--no wonder I guessed wrong. But you're right about one thing--he is sure to be a cutie. And I like to see all the photos of your kids you care to share!

And here I was thinking the name was given because that first photo looks a little like a mummy. (A cute mummy, mind you.)

P.S. It never ceases to astound me that these pictures represent a little person - a new piece of the family - growing INSIDE you. Miraculous, I tell you. Miraculous.
