The kids adore them and it creates a lot of comfort for a neurotic mother that they are snuggling up to a small square of fabric rather than smothering themselves in a large blanket -- especially when they are little babies.
So, when Jane discovered that I had a new baby growing in my tummy, her first question was, "where is baby's Bear?" (for she calls her love Bear;
Elliot calls his Goggy ... I believe, since he named his love when he could barely speak, that he meant Doggy, although his love is a monkey).
At the store we were faced with two choices: A pink giraffe or a blue dog.
I told Jane it would depend on the gender of the baby for which one we purchased.
Yesterday, when I had another ultrasound at 21 weeks, Lane was finally confident enough with the doctor's answer (she said she wasn't even going to equivocate) to finally talk about the baby in specific gender (because I've been sure of the baby's gender for 2 months now).
P.S. Lane took the ultrasound photos to work with him so he could scan them (since there is no scanner at the house). When I get them, I'll post some. He has the same beak as my other children.

Congrats! That will be fun!
YIPPPEEE! JAne is going to be so excited for another little brother to rule over and Elliott will be an excellent big brother best friend. What excellent news!
Congrats Rachel!! Maybe you'll end up with a "sandwich " like me; Girl, Boy, Boy, Girl!!
yeah!
Oh congratulations! I can hardly believe you are going to have number three. I remember when you had Jane... Again, Congrats!
I knew it! I voted for a boy!!
Congratulations to you and Lane! You are doing OK there, Lane!

Hooray! I'm so glad we can be confident about this now (seeing as how I bought a boy gift back when you told me you were pretty sure it was a boy). I'm so excited to see your babe, Diana's, and mine marching around together at family get togethers.
I second Katie's excitement about our Three Musketeers! My little one will probably be the boss (sorry, like mother - like daughter). I'm so excited for another Harold!!
How exciting! Either way is totally exciting, of course. It's just so great to have something specific to plan on :)
