Six Months

How can it be that this sweet thing has been in our family for six whole months?

Two of his favorite things: Jumping in his Jumperoo and blowing bubbles.

Lots of people have told me that their third was their sweetest baby and it's true! He's so wonderful, I can't describe it.

This child LOVES to eat. But you better be prepared to spoon the food in his mouth when you put him in the highchair because once he's strapped in, he wants his mush.

Of course, when he's mad he goes 0 to 60 in nothing flat. As our pediatrician said Monday when Owen flared up, "Wow. That came out of nowhere!"



For example, this was a day I was interrupted mid-feeding for a potty emergency. I put the bowl out of reach (so I thought) but apparently his consuming hunger (tongue in cheek) was too much. He decided to feed himself and was fairly proud about it.

Regardless, he's a happy boy.

Yes, thank you for asking, I AM that mother. What can I say? I've been sewing the boys' ties and I had extra fabric from Jane's dress. And, come on! How long will they let me do this?

I think he'll be even happier when he begins to crawl and, ironically, I will be too. He desperately wants to be around people 24/7 and in the late afternoon when I'm cooking and trying to pick up the day's tornado, the kids tend to wander off to the playroom and he feels woefully neglected.

Dr. S said he was right on track, though I was concerned over the fact that he still won't sit on his own. Apparently, this is a 7-month-old skill ... we're close though. I can taste independent-sitting victory!

 

I was happy that his weight went back up. I was slightly concerned at 4 months when he dipped to the 21 percentile, but a nearly 4 pound weight gain in 2 months has put him back in the 50th percentile.

 

He is my love. EVERYONE should have a baby like this one. But you can't have this one. He's already fought over enough in this house by 4 others (we all love him that much).
