Wicked Jack

Saturday was our annual trip to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm in Celina.

The kids L.O.V.E. this tradition and ask about it for the entire week leading up to the trip.

They were so excited they were, literally, running in circles when we got out of the car.
She dressed herself Saturday morning. I tried to convince or push other clothes on her, but she would have none of it. She INSISTED on a skirt with the leg warmers.

The minute we arrived, they ran to the farm section to feed the animals.
Don't let her apprehensive face fool you -- she was so excited to be feeding these animals.
Of course, I use "they" loosely, since apparently feeding animals up-close is another no-no in the world of Elliot (to date: Santa's lap, face painting, parades and firemen up-close).
He was screaming in terror here. It was fairly funny, especially considering that no one had mentioned feeding the animals to him and he was nowhere near the animals.
Did I mention it was freezing Saturday morning? I'm not kidding. Earlier in the week, our afternoons were in the 80s. This morning, we faced 42 degrees at 11 a.m.
This baby was such a good sport. He was so sick Saturday, but I don't think there has ever been a more bundled baby.

We then went on the hayride, which is always the highlight of the entire trip.

Jumping up and down when the tractor arrived

Everything seemed to delight this little boy on the hayride.
She concentrated on this piece of hay longer than she's ever concentrated on ANYthing.
Then, of course, pumpkins.

The hayride kept teasing them with images of fields of pumpkins. They were uncontrollable when we finally let them loose.
He decided to name his pumpkin "Punkin" and put a happy face with circle eyes on it.
Jane declared (unprompted) that her pumpkin was called "Wicked Jack" and that he needed a scary face with triangle eyes.
Next year, I pray for no sick children. The trip got truncated due to illness.
