Falling Leaves

As you might have guessed, conducting Fall activities in Texas takes a little thinking outside of the box.

Because when Day 8 says to "play in the leaves"
This ornament has always been a mystery to me. Apparently it's a Gothic funeral badge or something.

but your trees look like this
I should tell you, my trees are the most advanced in the neighborhood. It's as if they are trying to please me.
you have to think, "what can we do that's a leaf activity?"

So the kids and I ventured out into the frigid temperatures of Friday (hey, Thursday was in the low 80s. Friday hits and our high was 56 degrees ... it's a little bit of sticker shock, you know?).

We gathered the different leaves of our yard

See? How sad is it that at the end of October, Jane had to gather leaves by pulling them off of a tree?
and proceeded to make leaf rubbings.

It was their first time (because obviously I'm a bad mom), but I think they did fairly well.

Uh-oh, if that means you are a bad mom, then I am in trouble!
