Hormones or Genetics?

Or perhaps a diabolical combination?

Today I came perilously close to giving myself a home-style haircut.

The women in my family have a bad reputation for cutting their own hair postpartum. Of course, they also cut their own hair under normal hormone levels. In fact, I have an unnamed female relative who once cut her own hair using the kiddy-safe scissors because she could find nothing else in her home.

Knowing this family history, I told Lane -- while I was still pregnant -- to hide all hair-cutting instruments once I had the child. But guess what? He didn't. Perhaps if he knew how close he came to having a wife with a frighteningly short and oddly crooked hairdo today, he'd remove the scissors from the premises ASAP.
As it is, I put my hair into a hasty bun and that seems to have done the trick for now.

...and apparently we all have the same brain waves at the same time. I just got finished reading how Julia went through with another experiment...
