"Decorate Halloween cookies." Yum. Yum. Yum.
The kids and I were very excited for this today. So, sick or not, I made it happen.
Even Jane, who I am convinced can taste very little with her current illness, talked all day about tonight when we would decorate her cat cookies after dinner.
I made the dough last night, refrigerated it (per instructions) and the kids helped me cut the shapes this afternoon.
After a completely well-rounded dinner of pizza (this is what happens when Daddy is away on a fancy work dinner), we got out our materials.
First we frosted and decorated (Elliot's idea of decorating was one M&M/candy corn on the cookie, 5 in his mouth):
Then we ate
and ate
and ate
and ate.
Needless to say, little kids went to bed tonight with tummies hard as rocks -- and it wasn't from fruit. It's Halloween, right?
And, as you can see from the cookies I decorated during the Halloween Cookie Massacre, I hold firmly in the belief that a sugar cookie with a little icing is the best convoy for a slew of M&Ms. My baby in utero thinks so too.

Ah! I just caught up on the countdown. I've been remiss in checking your blog daily even though I've been looking forward to this time of year. Such fun Halloween ideas!
Sorry your little ones are sick... glad to see it didn't stop the celebration :)
fun times!
Oh, how I want sugar cookies. I resolve to make them before the big day arrives.
