Hot Fall Drinks

There is nothing like temps in the low 80s outside while you sit inside drinking apple cider with your A/C on to remind you that you live in Texas.

That's right. We still upheld tradition. Tuesday, or Day 5, was "make apple cider".

Because Jane had a fever and was napping, Elliot was my main helper.

He calls his apron his "ribbon".
I mixed things up this year (and it was SO much better) by mixing apples (1 Gala to 3 Honeycrisp), decreasing the amount of sugar and putting the spices in a makeshift cheesecloth.

Halving the recipe ended up perfect for my little family.

And everyone loved it -- regardless of the weather outside.
She kept taking a sip and licking her lips. It was quite amusing!
